Comparative Genomics in spiders

As part of the SpiderWeb Consortium we assembled and analyzed a comprehensive reference transcriptome for P. tepidariorum (Posnien et al., 2014). This dataset is now used to annotate and analyze the genome of P. tepidariorum that was sequenced as part of the i5K initiative.

We are currently studying the evolution of intron sizes in arthropods using already published genomic resources. Additionally, we are involved in several projects aiming at establishing new genomic and transcriptomic resources in spiders (Pholcus phalangioides and Cupiennus salei) and other arthropods (Glomeris marginata) and onychophorans (Euperipatoides kanangrensis).
